The 11th International Airborne Wind Energy Conference (AWEC 2026) was held on 24-26 June 2026 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), in Porto, Portugal.

The 11th edition of the event followed earlier conferences in Chico, Stanford, Leuven, Hampton, Berlin, Delft, Freiburg, Glasgow, Milan, and Madrid, and hosted international experts from academia and industry to present their ideas and share the latest outcomes from their research during the three days of the conference.

The Airborne Wind Energy Conference began in 2009 to bring together leading scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs from the emerging field of airborne wind energy to present their latest findings and achievements through slide and poster presentations and panel discussions. Since 2019, the conference is jointly organised with the European Academy of Wind Energy (EAWE), Airborne Wind Europe and Delft University of Technology.
